Welcome to Colchester Youth Awards 2012

The Colchester Youth Awards is a partnership that has been running for seven years, initially formed by Dave Petri and Matthew Young. The awards have been created with the intention of recognising the achievements of young people who live, work or study in Colchester. There are many awards that form the partnership; Arts, Carer, Community Improvement, Entrepreneur, Environment, Outstanding Achievement, Volunteer and Personal Journey. Every year we receive many high quality nominations in each of the categories, each of which is read by a judging panel. The awards ceremony is held each year at the beginning of October. The highly commended nominations are awarded certificates and trophies.
"Our Youth, Their Future" is the motto of the Colchester Youth Awards. I interpret this as meaning that one day, today's youth will be of working age, providing many services for the local area and possibly on a larger scale. It is important to recognise the achievements of young people today, so that in the future, their input is continued and expands to many others.
